UnConference: Shifting Urban Paradigms

You are kindly invited to participate in the UnConference: Shifting Urban Paradigms that the Subversive Research Department of Museu da Crise organises at LXFactory on Saturday October 5.
Museu da Crise is a socially engaged art project initiated in 2011 that offers an artistic challenge to the market-mindset and the hegemony of the financial sector. The main objective of Museu da Crise is to ‘museumify’ crisis and to turn it into a concept of the past. Museu da Crise is part of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale 2013 Associated Projects programme.
The goal of the UnConference is to collaboratively and inclusively construct new narratives that redefine the social, cultural and economical ideologies on which our cities have been built. During the UnConference we will delve into topics such as urban resilience, sustainable construction, urban agriculture, ecological literacy, social economies and active citizenship. Participants are encouraged to attend three short (20 min.) consecutive conversations on different topics, which will take place at five parallel tables, and they can then choose the fourth longer round (1,5h) on the topic of their preference. We have invited some experts that dedicate themselves to transformations in the topics mentioned above, who will convene the sessions on each topic. The success of this UnConference will co-depend on the creativity, knowledge and input of the participants.

If you have ideas that you would like to bring to the UnConference or the Museu, please contact us though info@museudacrise.org, so we can connect you with the appropriate facilitator.
Participation is free of monetary charge, however, we ask all participants to bring an object (or image of an object) that represents the crisis for them. The object will become part of the Emerging Collection of the Museu, so be prepared to part with it.

Gostaríamos de convidá-l@ a participar na desconferência: Mudando Paradigmas Urbanos que o Departamento de Investigação Subversiva do Museu da Crise organiza na LxFactory no dia 5 de Outubro.
O Museu da Crise é um projecto de arte social, iniciado em 2011, que propõe um desafio criativo à ideologia do mercado e à hegemonia do sector financeiro. O objectivo principal do Museu da Crise é a museificação da crise e a sua transformação num conceito do passado. O Museu da Crise faz parte do programa de projectos associados da Trienal de Arquitectura de Lisboa 2013.
O objectivo da desconferência é a construção de forma colaborativa e inclusiva de novas narrativas que permitam redefinir as ideologias sociais, culturais e económicas que estão na base das nossas cidades. Durante a desconferência iremos aprofundar questões como a resiliência urbana, a construção sustentável, a agricultura urbana, a literacia ecológica, as economias sociais e a cidadania activa. Os participantes são convidados a assistir a três curtas (20 min.) conversas consecutivas que decorrerão em cinco mesas paralelas, escolhendo depois o seu tópico preferido para uma quarta sessão mais longa (1,5h). Convidámos alguns especialistas que se dedicam à transformação naquelas áreas e que facilitarão cada uma das cinco mesas, mas o sucesso desta desconferência vai depender em grande medida da criatividade, do conhecimento e das contribuições dos participantes.

A participação é gratuita, mas pedimos a cada participante para trazer um objecto (ou imagem de um objecto) que representa para si a crise. O objecto irá fazer parte da Colecção Emergente do Museu, pelo que deve estar preparad@ para se desfazer dele.
