O Museu da Crise é um projecto artístico independente de qualquer organização governamental e iniciado por Daniela Paes Leão [PT] e Merel Willemsen [NL]. Mas na verdade o Museu da Crise somos todos nós que, afectados por esta crise económica, tentamos encontrar no dia a dia formas de a ultrapassar.
The Museu da Crise is an art project initiated by Daniela Paes Leão [PT] and Merel Willemsen [NL], independent of any governmental organisation. But in fact, the Museum of Crisis is all of us, affected by this economic crisis, that try to find in everyday lives strategies to overcome it.
Daniela Paes Leão [Portugal, 1974] finalizou o curso de Belas Artes na de Universidade do Porto. Os seus projectos partem sempre de um sentimento de urgência e relacionam-se o outro, encontrando nessa confrontação o cerne das diferentes problemáticas que trabalha. Está a desenvolver desde 2009 o projecto KijkRuimte. Teve trabalho exposto na Het Blauwe Huis, Project 35 – Independents Curators International e Tate Gallery. Recebeu bolsas da Gulbenkian, da Pistoletto Fondazione e da European Cultural Foundation. www.dpl.nu
Daniela Paes Leão [Portugal, 1974] graduated in 1999 from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. She works as a visual artist and filmmaker, developing creative projects that combine the aesthetic mediums of film, photography, publication and web design with sociology, anthropology and other disciplines. In 2009 she initiated the artproject KijkRuimte in Amsterdam. She has exhibited her work at The Blue House, Project 35- Independents Curators International and Tate Gallery amongst others. She received grants from Gulbenkian, the Pistoletto Foundation and the European Cultural Foundation. www.dpl.nu
Merel Willemsen [Países Baixos, 1977] trabalha como Historiadora de Arte, com especialidade em arte [digital] contemporânea e teoria de arte. Está a desenvolver desde 2009 o projecto KijkRuimte. Trabalhou em diferentes projectos artísticos e arquitectónicos no espaço público. Nomeadamente Mediamatic [Amesterdão] e Casco, Instituto de Arte Designe e Teoria [Ultrecht], Plataforma Visual [Amesterdão] e PICNIC [Amesterdão]. www.mnmrl.net
Merel Willemsen [the Netherlands, 1977] is an art historian specialised in contemporary art and theory, media art, and socially engaged art practices, She has been involved in multiple long-standing art and architectural projects in public space and publishes on a regular basis. She has worked at, amongst others, Casco, office for art, design and theory (Utrecht), Mediamatic (Amsterdam), Virtueel Platform, sector institute for e-culture // PICNIC (Amsterdam), KijkRuimte (Amsterdam) and served as a board memeber for the Blue House Foundation. www.mnmrl.net
