The third workshop was a quite intimate one with four immigrants from the Ukraine and a little baby. We encountered a few linguistic difficulties and obviously a fair dose of scepticism. We more or less know about Ukraine’s history with Russia, communism and a big recession in the nineties, not to mention the more recent political and social issues… We managed to convince the participant that we are not aiming for a communist dictatorship and started work. The most important lessons we took from this workshop had to deal with avoiding waste; escaping the buy-throw away-buy-throw away rhythm that seems to control us. Especially when it comes to food, waste should not exist.
